Sustainability - What we do

OUR COMMITMENT...

We are dedicated to reducing our environmental footprint wherever we can.
From recyclable cardboard to clear and coloured plastics, if it can be recycled or reused, we make sure it is.
Our own brand products are packaged in recyclable plastic, packed in cardboard and sealed with eco-friendly paper tape before leaving our warehouse.
These boxes are collected and reused wherever possible, often carrying products to customers numerous times over the years.

Our Food Surplus Redistribution scheme means that we keep food waste to an absolute minimum whilst distributing high quality food and goods to those who could not otherwise afford them.

What this means in practice is that every week our Food Surplus team sends out pallet-loads of unsaleable but high quality goods to our local partners; these include food banks , community kitchens and food distribution charities.

As this scheme has developed and improved we have seen a steady increase in the amounts we can donate coupled with a dramatic decrease of wasted produce going to biofuel ( our very last resort).

We prioritise recycling at every stage, reusing packaging received from suppliers and minimising waste generated during production.
For local deliveries via our own fleet, we collect excess packaging for recycling.
By partnering with trusted recyclers like Ecogen Recycling, we make sure our materials are responsibly collected, processed, and reintegrated into the recycling stream.
We’re striving to do more though, and are always on the look out for innovative ways to do things better.
