About Us
We've been a worker's co-operative since 1971
And because we’re owned and democratically run by our members, we can follow our own path. We’re a team of like-minded people, each one of us paid fairly, fully invested and part of the family. We’re spreading the word.
The quality of food on your plate shouldn’t be dictated by the number of pounds in your pocket. So we work with as many local groups and charities as we can, making whole foods more accessible to everyone. Getting the message out there that there’s a better way to shop, eat and live.
Healthy pulses, grains, nuts, seeds and fruit. Fair prices and a friendly voice. We don’t think these things should ever go out of style. We play the long game, and work hard to keep the right traditions going forever.
What Being A Co-operative Means
Infinity Foods is proud that we have been a workers co-operative since 1971. Continuing in the tradition of the Rochdale pioneers, we are a business run by its workers, for its workers. We operate on the values of self-help, self-responsibility, democracy, equality, and solidarity. We are a motivated and unified workforce, where everyone feels involved in the successful running of the business. Our success is not only about profit, we also care about environmental and social responsibility and positive involvement in our local community.

OUR HISTORY
Infinity Foods began in 1971 with a small shop in Brighton, England. In 1985, as a result of the increasing demand for bulk wholefood orders, a group of workers set up a separate wholesale branch of the business. Run initially from a site in Saltdean, the business eventually moved to a larger warehouse in Shoreham-by-sea, where it remains to this day. Over the years, as the wholefood market has grown so too has the wholesale division of Infinity Foods. What started as a small outlet at the rear of the shop is today one of the UK's leading national and international distributors of high quality, organic, fairtrade and natural products.
OUR BELIEFS
We’ve been chipping away at change since 1971. The hairstyles (and trousers) were different back then, but we still see the world the same way. Our founders wanted to sell healthy, well-grown food in a caring business. People got it. And we grew. Slowly, over decades, we’ve been building up our business to keep up with demand as more foodies and friends of the earth cotton on.
Our success is a sign that the world is changing. People are more conscious than ever about their food: how it’s grown, who makes it, and how it tastes. We’ve been selling organic food for over 50 years - avoiding pesticides and fertilisers that harm people and the environment. We source ethical products – ones that don’t take their toll on people or the planet. And our stuff is delicious.
